Privacy Policy

1. Information We Collect

Information you give us.

• Account information: your name, email address, password, and organization name if you add one.
• Purchase information: your plan, billing country, and order history. Card details are entered directly with our payment processor, Stripe. We never see or store your full card number.
• Creator information: if you join our creator program, your name, contact details, portfolio links, the footage and audio you submit, and the payment and tax information we need to pay you.
• Communications: messages you send us, such as support requests and refund requests.

Information collected automatically.

• Usage information: the clips you preview, download, favorite, and add to collections, and the license certificates issued to you.
• Device and log information: browser type, device type, pages viewed, and error reports.
• IP address: we use IP addresses for security, fraud prevention, and to estimate your country. In our general analytics, we replace your IP address with an anonymized identifier that changes daily. We keep the IP address with purchase and consent records, as described in Section 2.

2. How We Use Information

• To create and run your account and provide the Service.
• To process payments, renewals, refunds, and creator payouts.
• To deliver downloads, issue license certificates, and enforce plan limits and the License Agreement.
• To keep a record of the Terms and checkout consents you accept, as proof of your agreement and to resolve payment disputes.
• To send service messages, such as receipts, renewal reminders, and security notices.
• To send marketing emails if you opt in. You can unsubscribe at any time using the link in any marketing email.
• To understand how the Service is used and improve it.
• To prevent fraud, abuse, scraping, and security incidents.
• To meet legal, tax, and accounting obligations.

Legal bases (EU, EEA, and UK users). We process your information to perform our contract with you (running your account and delivering purchases), for our legitimate interests (security, fraud prevention, and improving the Service), to comply with legal obligations (tax and accounting records), and with your consent (marketing emails and non-essential cookies). You can withdraw consent at any time.

3. How We Share Information

We share personal information only with:

• Service providers that operate the Service for us: cloud hosting and databases, file storage, video delivery, payment processing, email delivery, error monitoring, and analytics. They may use your information only to provide services to us, under contracts that require them to protect it. A current list of our service providers is available on request at privacy@cars4k.com.
• Legal and safety recipients, when required by law or legal process, or when needed to protect the rights, property, or safety of Cars4k, our users, or others.
• A buyer or successor, if Cars4k is involved in a merger, acquisition, financing, or sale of assets. Your information would remain subject to this Policy.

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising.

4. How Long We Keep Information

We keep account information while your account is open. After you close your account, we delete or anonymize your information unless we need to keep it for legal, tax, accounting, or dispute purposes. Purchase records, license certificates, and consent records are kept for at least 7 years, because they prove the licenses you hold and the terms you accepted.

5. Cookies

We use necessary cookies to keep you signed in, secure your account, and run checkout. These cannot be turned off. Where the law requires consent, we use analytics cookies only after you agree, and you can change your choice at any time in our cookie settings. We do not use advertising cookies.

6. Your Rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to:

• Access the personal information we hold about you and get a copy.
• Correct inaccurate information.
• Delete your information.
• Receive your information in a portable format.
• Object to or restrict certain processing.
• Withdraw consent you have given.
• Opt out of the sale or sharing of your information. We do neither.

To make a request, email privacy@cars4k.com from the email address on your account. We may need to verify your identity before acting. We will respond within the time the law requires and will not treat you differently for exercising your rights. If you are in the EU, EEA, or UK, you may also complain to your local data protection authority.

7. Security

We protect your information with encryption in transit, restricted access to our systems, hashed passwords, and short-lived download links. No system is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security. If you believe your account has been compromised, contact us at privacy@cars4k.com.

8. International Transfers

Cars4k is based in the United States, and our service providers may process your information in the United States and other countries. When we transfer information from the EU, EEA, or UK, we rely on approved safeguards, such as the European Commission’s Standard Contractual Clauses.

9. Children

The Service is for people 18 and older. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. If you believe a minor has given us information, contact us and we will delete it.

10. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Policy and will post the new version with a new “Last updated” date. If we make material changes, we will notify you by email or in the Service before they take effect.
